Junior Trials Form:
Trials are typically held on Wednesday evenings or Saturday/ Sunday mornings during June. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have not yet confirmed trial dates but we will resume with the planning once it is safe to do so.
All trials will take place at our outdoor courts, which are based at the Hinckley Rugby Club ground. The postcode for this is LE10 3DR. This is also our home ground for all matches and training sessions.
We recommend you coming to as many trial dates as you can make, but ideally we need to see everyone who is trialling attend at least one of the sessions. If you cannot make any of the dates (e.g. due to holiday or work commitments), please still submit the trial form and we will contact you for further information.
We currently have five senior teams (A, B, C, D and E) in the Coventry & North Warwickshire League (divisions 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8), and 3 junior teams (of a mix of U14’s and U16’s), so can cater for a mix of abilities.
When trialling, we ask people to select at least two positions in order for our teams to have flexibility throughout the season. You will be trialled in all positions you select, and potentially another if our selectors believe you also have talent elsewhere on court. Players will be selected into a team only, opposed to a specific position in that team. During the season, it will then be decided between your team, with your captain or coach having the final decision, on what positions people play for matches. This will obviously take into account what position you play and selected to trial at, but it will also help teams to switch around and work out the best positioning that works for all players.
You need to be aged 13 or over (as of September 1st 2020) to be considered for a senior team. If you are younger than this, then we have junior teams for those aged 11 to 17.
If you have any questions, please contact our chairs Lucy & Holly on: firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you at trials!
