Our Committee

Hinckley Ladies Netball Club (HLNC) Committee: 2023/2024

Senior Chairwoman

Holly Hemsley & Lucy Marsden

Holly has been a member of the club for over 14 years now and is still “absolutely loving it!”. Starting at the club as a junior, she has always wanted to help out as much as she can – bringing in young players and then encouraging them to continue on into seniors as she did herself several years ago. As well beginning her role as Chair, Holly will also be coaching both junior and senior sessions for the 23/24 season.

Lucy joined Hinckley Ladies as a junior member back in 2008 and has been with us ever since (apart from a brief break for Uni!). She loves HLNC because it has great community atmosphere and has made “friends for life”. Outside of netball she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring bookshops and baking cakes (which are delicious!).

Junior Chairwomen

Chloe & Katie Phillips

Chloe and Katie started in our junior section aged 14, and are now looking ahead to their seventh full season as HLNC members. The 2023/24 season will be their third consecutive season as Junior Chairs, having previously held roles as Junior Representatives. They both hold a Level 2 Coaching qualification, and are eager to develop and nurture the Club’s future.

Their favourite thing about the club is “the community spirit and how friendly everyone is”. Outside of Netball, they are season ticket holders for Leicester City FC, and juggle their busy Saturdays playing Netball and watching the Football.

Vice Chairwoman

Emma Draycott

Emma has been a member of HLNC since 2004, and has had many committee roles over the years. Emma’s favourite thing about the club is “the people and the passion,” and is most known by our members as the one who is most likely to turn up late. After finally having been successful in the London marathon ballot (after many attempts and many postponements during Covid), she absolutely smashed it during the 2023 race.

Treasurer

Andrea Phillips

Having first become involved with the club through watching her daughters’ play (and previously being their taxi!), Andrea has now become our treasurer. She enjoys going to watch LCFC with her family as well as walking her dog. Andrea says that whilst having played Netball in her younger years, she now prefers to watch it from the sidelines and sit at a desk dealing with the numbers!

Anita King

Anita is a long-standing member of HLNC, having been part of the club for over 20 years. Outside of netball, Anita enjoys spending quality time with her family, enjoying lots of holidays and playing tennis.” Anita is also one of our safeguarding officers and can be contacted at safeguarding@hinckleyladiesnetball.com.

Fixtures Secretary

Carole Payne (CP)

CP has been playing for HLNC since 1995 and has taken on the role of Fixtures Secretary for as long as most of us can remember! According to CP, “if I’m not playing netball I’m usually running round after my daughter…literally! However, I do also like to knit as well as play darts and the odd game of badminton.” CP is one of the most well-known members of the entire Coventry & North Warwickshire league, and was very deservedly presented with a ‘Special Persons’ award at the 2018 league presentation to recognise her hard work, commitment and support towards netball (and in particular for HLNC!).

Safeguarding Officers

Anita King (Juniors & Seniors) and Cara Stuckey (Seniors)

Here at HLNC our mission is to provide a safe, fun and enjoyable environment for our members to enjoy netball. We promote a culture of kindness and have all the appropriate and relevant protective safeguards in place to provide a safe space for children and young adults to enjoy the sport as part of our club.

Our team of safeguarding officers are always on hand to offer advice and support to you if you ever need it as your wellbeing is our top priority. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you need to.

She absolutely loves the club and “all the amazing people in it” and enjoys going to watch all the teams matches on a Saturday each week. This will be her first committee role and she is excited to communicate all the exciting things happening for the club in the upcoming season. Outside of netball, Cara enjoys long walks, going out to eat and above all, travelling and seeing different cities across the world.

Fundraising Officer

Jess Rainbow

Jess joined HLNC in 2006 with our junior team and has been at the club ever since, now playing for the A team thanks to her fast feet and awesome long passes into the circle. Her favourite thing about the club is that “we have a good balance between being competitive and having fun”. Jess will be continuing in her role as fundraising officer for the upcoming season, coming up with lots of fun ways to raise money.

Events & Tournaments Officers

Darcey Arrowsmith & Beth Thurairajah

Darcey has been at the club since she was 14, starting as a junior and now playing for one of our senior teams. She took on the role as events and tournaments officer this season to help bring a sense of community to the club by putting on tournaments and events that allow juniors, seniors, umpires and parents to all come together.

Beth has also taken on the role of events and tournaments officer this season alongside being one of our senior club coaches. She looks forward to putting on events that bring the club together outside of training and will hopefully be bringing some of her delicious baked goodies along to some of the events too.
