Saturday 30th January – HLNC B Team and Hornettes Match report

B Team

Hinckley B team were at home to a strong Henley D side last Saturday. The game was fast paced and there were no signs that the team members were put off by the numerous injuries and illness currently afflicting them. However, Henley benefitted from being able to lob the high ball into their tall Goal Shooter despite the hard efforts of the Hinckley defence.

Hinckley’s shooters shot well but the strong Henley defence were making it very difficult for them. The centre court players worked tirelessly throughout the game earning Centre Sadie Baker the player of the match award. The final score, 49-30 to Henley.

Hornettes

Following their first win in their last match, Hinckley Hornettes went into their game against Leamington ‘Back to Netballers’ last week with an air of confidence. The Hornettes started off well scoring 7 goals to Leamington’s  4.  Although Leamington fought hard the Hornettes defence was a force to be reckoned with and they were attacking hard. The Hornettes continued in fighting form and the goals kept coming particularly in the final quarter. The final score was Hinckley Hornettes 26,  Leamington 20.  Player of the match went to Verity Skelton who worked tirelessly in defence.
