B Team

Hinckley B had two matches this week. In the first they travelled to Henley D on Wednesday evening. It turned out to be a high impact game with Hinckley suffering several injuries during the match. Unfortunately the game had to be abandoned late into the last quarter, with Hinckley losing the match 40-29. Player of the match was awarded to the Hinckley wing attack Anna Kinsella.

Due to the injuries suffered earlier in the week, Hinckley B had a much changed team on Saturday when they played Offchurch.  Hinckley started the match well, finishing the first quarter only 1 goal adrift. In the middle periods Offchurch drew ahead due to more accurate passing and excellent shooting. Despite out scoring Offchurch in the last quarter the gap was too large to bridge with Hinckley losing the game 35-31. Player of the match was awarded to the Hinckley goal attack Emily Harrison.

Juniors

Hinckley juniors were in action this week as they played Stratford B in their second game of the season. They struggled to get going with the scoreline at the end of the first quarter 3-9. Stratford’s consistent pressing and a few Hinckley mistakes stretched their lead to 4-19. Hinckley managed to pull a few goals back with some good linking up play and excellent defensive interceptions, however this wasn’t enough with Stratford playing fantastic netball finishing the third quarter 29-7. It was Hinckley’s aim to be persistent and see the game through to try and reach double figures, which they achieved with the game finishing 10-40. Player of the match was Wallis Newitt.

Saturday 15th October – HLNC Match Report

With the A team their Goal Attack down, Darcey Arrowsmith stepped up from the B team to face Stockton. Hinckley A started with a storm leading 11-6 at the end of the first quarter. They continued to progress and improve throughout the game and this was not just down to the forever flowing attack taking their chances. The defensive duo of Kate Chamberlain and Alice Roche only allowed Stockton to let in two goals in the 3rd quarter taking  it to 38-12 to Hinckley. Hinckley held this performance and progressed it even further by playing some very good netball, scoring a whopping 19 goals in the last quarter to make the final score 57-20. POM Ashleigh Oakes.

It was the day of the first of many local derby matches, with Hinckley having three teams in the same division this year. A solid, strong Hinckley D team  took to the courts against the much respected Hinckley B ,dictating the play by taking the lead of 10 in the 1st 2 quarters. Both defensive teams worked tirelessly to overturn centres and intercepted passes .  A change of player in the B team for the third quarter  meant fresh legs and helped them to decrease the lead by overturning a few of the centres but the D’s held tight chasing every ball down to secure their third win in a row for the season! Player of the match went to Sue Ley for Hinckley D and joint POM for Hinckley B went to Anna Kinsella and Denise Ibbetson.

Saturday 16th April – HLNC Match Report

A Team
Hinckley A were looking to end the season on a high this week against Cov Sphinx after a nail bitter in the previous meet between the two with Hinckley winning by one goal. A great start by Hinckley, great defensive play and conversion of shooting opportunities allowed Hinckley to take an early lead 11-5 at the end of the first quarter. A shakey start to the final quarter allowed Sphinx to get back in the game, narrowing the gap but Hinckley managed to pull it together and not let the lead go with moments of great play from the home side. Final Score Hinckley 45 Cov Sphinx 39. Player of the match WA Ashleigh Oakes.
